Once upon a time there was a very poor glassblower who could not afford to decorate the Christmas tree for his children with real apples and nuts and so came up with the idea of ​​copying the coveted pieces of glass and painting them colorfully. From this idea a handicraft branch emerged from 1847, which still shapes life in Lauscha and the surrounding area. Around 1880 the first Christmas tree decorations were offered in the shops of F. W. Woolworth in America and began its triumphal march around the world. As one of the last Christmas tree decoration manufacturers in Germany, following the old tradition, we manufacture original Thuringian Christmas tree decorations in the wonderfully located mountain village of Steinheid near the glass town of Lauscha. What was lovingly handcrafted in almost every house at the time is now being delivered all over the world by Thüringer Glasdesign GmbH. Our range covers thousands of shimmering balls and shapes in hundreds of colors and nuances. Mouth-blown and hand-painted balls, figures and tree tops of unique beauty, but also innovations such as illuminated ball decorations decorate the most beautiful time of the year in an atmospheric, stylish way and stand for Christmas decorations of the highest quality with the seal of quality "Made in Germany".
